I Spent $645 At Downtown Disney…Was It Worth It?

Two weeks ago, I went to Downtown Disney for the very first time. And I spent...$645.

Was it worth it? Let’s find out.

Before we get started, I have to thank my amazing, sweet husband who planned the most beautiful birthday trip to Anaheim. It was fun, adventurous, and just perfect. Now I’m officially addicted and want to go all the time.

Stoney Clover x Disney Parks Varsity Jacket

The first thing I bought was this absolutely adorable pastel sporty varsity jacket from the Stoney Clover x Disney Parks collection at the D-Lander Shop.

It was $200...and with taxes, $215.49.

Right off the bat, I completely splurged. But I couldn’t help myself.

The quality is impeccable. There’s an embroidered Disney Parks | Stoney Clover Lane logo on the chest and a chenille “D” letter that’s soft to the touch. It has two side pockets and super cute Mickey Mouse snap buttons on the front.

On the right sleeve, there are three chenille Mickey icons outlined in gold. On the left sleeve, there’s an embroidered crest that says “The Happiest Place on Heart,” surrounded by tiny fireworks and a Mickey detail. And on the back, a beautifully embroidered Disneyland logo that just glows.

The outside is wool, and the inside is lined with quilted satin. You can feel the weight of it when you wear it...not heavy, but cozy. Like being wrapped in a blanket.

So was it worth it?

Yes. Absolutely.

Do you need it? No! But if you’re looking for a timeless, luxury piece that will last forever...this jacket is it.

Mrs. Potts Teapot & Chip Mug

Next stop, the World of Disney store.

I found the Mrs. Potts teapot and Chip mug from Beauty and the Beast. The teapot was $27.99, the mug was $24.99, and after taxes, the total came to $57.09.

Honestly, when I saw the price, I was shocked. I thought Mrs. Potts would be around $50. But when I turned it over and saw $27.99, I grabbed it instantly.

They’re both made of stoneware...a dense, durable type of pottery that’s strong and less likely to chip. Technically, it says not to use in the microwave or dishwasher, so keep that in mind.

The details are beautiful. Chip even has his little chip, and his tilted base makes him look alive. That’s the magic of Disney...the craftsmanship, the personality, the way they make inanimate things feel like characters.

I love drinking green tea in colder months, so I know this mug will get used a lot. A perfect pair to display on your coffee table or kitchen counter.

So was it worth it?

Yes and yes.

I was ready to pay for them myself, but my husband bought them for my birthday. Still, I’m counting them in my total because they were coming home with me one way or another.

Mickey Mouse Sherpa Beanie

Now for the star of the show. The Mickey Mouse Sherpa Beanie.

$29.99, or $32.31 after taxes.

They also come in black, but I picked the white one. It’s made of sherpa fabric, so it’s soft, fluffy, and incredibly cozy. There’s an adjustable strap in the back so you can change the fit...which I love, because I have a small head and most beanies never sit right. But this one? Perfect.

On the bottom of the band, there’s a patch that says “Disneyland. Where dreams come true.” And on the corner, the Sleeping Beauty castle.

Apparently it’s going viral on social media right now, because they were flying off the shelves. I was lucky to grab one while a crew member was restocking.

Was it worth it? Yes. Totally.

If you can get your hands on one, do it!

Sugarplum Fairy Tale Ornaments — Chip & Beast

Getting into the Christmas spirit...I found these Sugarplum Fairy Tale ornaments of Chip and Beast from Beauty and the Beast.

Chip was $29.99, Beast was $24.99, and the total after taxes was $59.24.

Beast is reimagined into a nutcracker, with pastel colors and gold accents. His limbs dangle from little gold hooks, giving him free flowing movement. He has a satin ribbon for hanging, and the craftsmanship is stunning.

Right next to him was Chip...reimagined as a creamy dessert sprinkled with pink and gold toppings. He looks delicious and adorable at the same time. He’s made of ceramic, so he has a little weight to him, and the textures make him feel so detailed.

They’re both so beautiful. I couldn’t leave without them.

Was it worth it?

Yes. I can’t wait to hang them on my Christmas tree!

LEGO Super Mario Kart Sets

Next up...the LEGO Store.

Every time I walk into a LEGO Store, I get overwhelmed. There are just so many sets to choose from. But this time, I knew exactly what I wanted...the Super Mario Kart sets.

I bought the Donkey Kong & DK Jumbo set for $34.99 ($37.70 after taxes). My husband bought me the Baby Peach & Grand Prix set for $79.99 ($86.19 after taxes). Total...$123.89 for both.

The Donkey Kong set has 387 pieces and comes with a buildable Donkey Kong figure and DK Jumbo car that can launch shells at targets. You can even unlock sound and visual effects if you have the interactive Mario, Luigi, or Princess Peach figures.

The Baby Peach & Grand Prix set is bigger...823 pieces. It comes with Baby Peach, Toad, Lakitu, and Lemmy. You get to build Baby Peach’s kart, Lemmy’s landship, and Toad’s standard bike. There are cones, shells, and race track pieces that make it feel like you’re building your own little world.

So was it worth it?

Yes. 100%.

I already own three other Mario Kart LEGO sets...and building these was just as fun as the first time.

Pele Brazil 2025 Jersey

The final item of the day.

A Pele Brazil 2025 jersey for $145 ($156.24 after taxes).

ree

I wasn’t expecting to find a soccer store at Downtown Disney, but the moment I walked in and saw this jersey, I knew it was fate. It was the last one in my size, and I haven’t been able to find it online for over a year.

I’ve watched fútbol since I was little, and Brazil has always been my favorite national team. I grew up watching Ronaldinho and Kaká, and even though Pelé was before my time, he’s still the greatest.

This jersey has so much sentimental value. It’s not just clothing. It’s nostalgia...and I can’t wait to wear it during the next World Cup.

Was it worth it?

Absolutely.

Final Thoughts

A total of $645 spent at Downtown Disney.

Do you have to spend that much to have fun there? Definitely not. But for me...every piece had meaning. Every one of these items sparked joy, brought back memories, or became something I’ll use and treasure.

If I had to recommend just one item, it would be the Mickey Mouse Sherpa Beanie. It’s cute, comfortable, wearable anywhere, and under $30. It’s perfect for winter...and it makes an amazing gift for any Disney lover.
